An open letter to our building community partners:

As a provider of an essential service, we are working to ensure we are here for our employees, customers and communities as the coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts the region. We continue to evaluate and adjust our services in the field as our industry adapts to a new “normal.”

In response to Gov. Inslee’s March 23 proclamation “Stay Home – Stay Healthy”, we will be temporarily stopping construction of new line and service connections to homes and businesses. This will continue through the end of the proclamation period, April 6th, or later if extended by the governor.

For construction of an essential facility as defined by the governor’s office, please let us know and we will continue forward with your project. For construction of facilities that are deemed as non-essential, PSE project staff will continue to work from home to advance your projects, but won’t be conducting site visits or construction efforts until end of the proclamation period.

    What this will look like:
    • For meetings with all PSE project staff:
      • Utilizing email, phone calls, and virtual WebEx conferencing at all times
    • For construction:
      • Practicing social distancing in the field by deploying sandwich boards on work sites encouraging the public to keep their distance from crews and increased distance between field staff.
      • Adjusting our practices for planned outages to minimize impact to residential customers and neighborhoods, as customers are now working from home and students are continuing their education virtually.
    • Increased sanitization of work vehicles and facilities that field staff utilize.

While this is uncharted territory for PSE, the necessary changes might mean that our building partners experience delays due the impact of the virus on our supply chain and workforce. We will continue to work with you on your projects to minimize delays to the extent possible.

Thank you for understanding that the safety of our employees and customers is and always will be our top priority and company value.
